Build endurance and get strong.
Want to join the military or become a first responder? This’ll help.
This program is primarily for those planning to enter the military or become a first responder. It’s also for those who simply wish to build aerobic capacity, muscular endurance and functional strength without any extra fluff. This is practical training for one purpose: to help you succeed physically in a tactical scenario.
Based on my personal military experience and the experience of others, I’ve curated this preparatory course to help prepare you for the physical challenges that you might face at your respective basic military training/training academy.
Frequency – 2-4x lifting per week, 2-4x Aerobic sessions per week (depending on which phase you’re in)
Phases – There are 3 phases to this program:
Phase 1 (Weeks 1-4) is building an aerobic foundation
Phase 2 (Weeks 5-8) is building Functional Strength
Phase 3 (Weeks 9-12) is a hybrid of phase 1&2, with an emphasis on building muscular endurance.
Outcome – You will be at a noticeably higher level of fitness if you follow this program as written and are nourishing your body well along the way. The ideal outcome is that you feel prepared to crush any PT test or training when the time comes.
